AFAIK, only EricSMG has installed the FCM Elite Stage 3 setup.

At least that's all I've seen...

Re: My warm up procedures.

You can code the warmup lights to go out at whatever values you want. They're 100% based on oil temp.

I have them coded to values I'm comfortable with (which I agree stock is not), so I actually...

Plug it in, along with your sway diameter, weight, and weight distro, and find out! That's the purpose of the spreadsheet! :parrot:

Re: FCM E46 M3 Ride Harmonizer suspension spreadsheet (bounce freqs, FRC, roll stiffn

Plugging in those rates, CSL sway specs, a weight of 3075 lbs (and "average" CSL-- somewhere between a stripper no AC, no stereo car and a more typical one), and a 170 lb driver, with 50/50 weight...

Re: FCM E46 M3 Ride Harmonizer suspension spreadsheet (bounce freqs, FRC, roll stiffn

The table doesn't specify anything.

It does say that a TCK 400/700 setup is not flat ride and slightly understeery with a FRC of 79%.

Being an example on the table is not an endorsement--...

Re: High mileage M3 only - 150k+ only club

Any time you change engine, there's a bit of trading the evil you know for the one that you don't. Might be fine. Might not.

Re: Probably Laughable... but... Driving Simulator Games?

I'm biding my time on VR. I've really enjoyed the times I've used it, but the low res was killing it for me.

It feels like we have a couple years of dramatic improvement and price cuttings ahead...

Re: Probably Laughable... but... Driving Simulator Games?

This feels like an area where VR will completely dominate all those crazy setups-- both in experience and price.

Re: Is Epic’s Alpha N “close enough” to MAP setup w/ carbon airbox?

I don't know in general. I can say with confidence that both Evolve and mcchip-DKR were able to do it successfully on my car. I'm certain others can, as well, but I've never had cause to investigate...

Re: Is Epic’s Alpha N “close enough” to MAP setup w/ carbon airbox?

The tuner has to flash the emission communications portion back onto the CSL flash. It will not communicate stock. It can be made to communicate 100% like stock MAF based.

A CSL tuned DME can be tweaked to communicate with the inspection computer. Mine does.

ShaikhA: how should gas force be accounted for on this spread sheet, if at all?

That is a HUGE change!

Any other hardware changes? How many events have you done at this track?

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

I think I'm going to try to corner balance the Dinan/Koni setups on my M3 wagon by shimming the springs. We'll see how how it works. :lolhit:

Re: Shock dynos, Fat Cat Motorsports and custom valved Bilstiens

I've never had Vorshlags on my e46.

I've had...
TCK
GC street
TMS hybrid

My e36 m3 track car had vorshlags.

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

There is nothing unique to the Dinan Konis-- they are 100% identical to stock.

Cheaper to buy Dinan springs and generic Koni yellows, exact same parts.

Excellent update!

Looking forward to the final motion ratios for the rears and the sway bar dimensions, so I can start buying some springs and playing with this flat ride thing!

Re: Tired of NVH. Going back to OEM rubber

Camber plates are useless for the street, unless your shocks don't have enough bump travel (which is pretty much just Bilsteins), so most people running camber plates are tracking their cars. Most...

Re: Is Epic’s Alpha N “close enough” to MAP setup w/ carbon airbox?

Yes.

Probably more important to tune it after converting than it is stock, if you're running anything other than CSL airbox/cams/headers/section 1/valves, since it's less adaptable than the stock...

Re: Obioban's 2005 Imola Red M3 coupe (56K mass murder)

Alignment depends a lot of right height, imo-- both because you're limited as to what's possible, and because the camber curve gets worse as the car gets lower-- so the lower you set your ride...

That's completely fair! People should make whatever safety compromised they feel comfortable with. For 100+ years cars didn't come with side airbags. I just didn't want you getting rid of them...
