How far did you drive with an under inflated tire? That is what probably damaged the tire structurally, so much so that it couldn't hold air without "exploding" after you reinflated it.

Tires wear shouldn't affect the accuracy of an alignment. I'd fix the alignment (and bushings or whatever is causing the accelerated wear) before I put on new tires.

Start with two sets of OEM wheels (18"), use the four rears as your square, summer/track wheels and the four fronts with your winter/snow tires. The rear spacer is optional with the snows.

Yes, on the rear I put on Koni yellows modified by TC Kline to be externally (top) adjustable and TC Kline rubber shock mounts. I believe this to be a durable and practical street/track combo.
