Re: Turbo Toy V3 Failures?

I would imagine a person would test fit or tinker with the hub (stock or TT) and splined gears to see if they drag or don't move. It wouldn't just all of a sudden not fit or sieze. The dudes story...

Re: Another Oil Leak Question

Yeah it is haha. I modified a deepwell socket just for the purpose of removal and installation of the tensioner.

In regards to the possible leak, I'm going to have to agree with what's already...

Heavy breathing.....tempting. I just got some personal things to take care of before purchasing the coveted CSL bootlid. Maybe next time.

Re: Drilling Vanos disc

Honestly no I haven't checked for binding. All the Vanos units went on trouble free with my hands, except my one buddies had a stubborn dowel (corroded/rust) that I replaced. I could maybe see your...

Re: Drilling Vanos disc

Yeah I'm thinking there's that much radial play by chance. I would expect some for a lil variance in between components, but doubt it uses all of it. The fitment with your unit is kinda odd in my...

Re: Drilling Vanos disc

I can agree to a point on what you have said but I wouldn't necessarily call it flawed. I personally wouldn't remove the dowels. In the 14years of CNC machining I've done I can't remember a part...

Re: Drilling Vanos disc

You can't put a third set of holes in the disk if you have 2 sets 90 from each other. Don't forget there are 4 little pistons in the outter diameter that serve their purpose in the way. The drilled...

No, never on just any old drill press. That would be a recipe for tab failure or not fitting. Especially if A. The center to center distance is off from the center bore from one drilled hole to the...

Re: Quick VANOS question, what is this bolt?

Ah gotcha. It's not too common I see a reason to remove it. Except I do recall a member having his leak and need an O-ring.

Down shifting early/engine braking. Whether it has a limiter or not you're not going to stop it mechanically.
