Yup, I also had an oil leak that came from the chain tensioner. Freaked me out like crazy until I found out the cause. You'll find oil on the AC compressor as well.

At idle, your blow off valve should be open and you'll feel air blowing out of it.

Just fail the obd2 scan tests two times, then they'll do the two speed idle test. By fail, I mean that the tests will indicate those monitors are not ready. They'll ask you to come back the next day...

Clean your IACV - idle air control valve. There's a good diy posted here somewhere. You'll have to remove your intake manifold, which is a daunting task if its your first time.

Seized blower is not fun. Make sure you follow the recommended traction fluid replacement interval. That $300 bottle of liquid gold every few years is better than buying a new blower.

Does your aux fan turn on when you turn on the AC? If the fan doesn't run, then you have a faulty coolant temp sensor on your lower radiator pipe.

My suggestions for common areas that cause boost leaks:

- look at the throttle body couplers. Especially very last one, closest to the firewall. See if it is seated properly. If not, loosen...

I replaced my hose today and had the exact same wear/contact points on the hose as mentioned below.

Replaced it with the ECS Rein hose and fitment was fine. No issues.

If you don't want to rig it, google 'technic wiring harness e46 m3' and you'll find the cleanest and best solution for $75.
