You reuse your original transmission; which you know works (no gambling with an unknown used trans) and it's cheaper. No brainer.

Finished parting out the donor car. Good friend of mine let me use his shop. It was so great using the lift! I drove it there in the AM and we had stripped it down by the end of the day...

You can unscrew the studs from the body (you'll definitely need to if you attempt to do this without fully dropping the subframe).

As for the tool, measure both an X5 and an M3...
