Re: Getting Rekt by a 335i

The real successor was what was made, the E90/E92 M3. A high revving N/A motor with a balanced chassis. Shame they didn't continue R&D on the S54/S65/S85. The new S55 just doesn't have the same soul...

Re: Clutch help. Forced induction

What kind of FI are you running? With S/C cars, you're running less torque than N/A due to the parasitic drag below roughly 5000rpms so a stock clutch will hold. I dyno'd at 500whp and I'm still on...

Re: Question about Tires: Michelin PS4s (and tires in general)

Power delivery and chassis makes a ton of difference too. While I couldn't move with brand new AS3+ on my 335I, I was able to move in more snow in my E46 with all summer tires.

Re: E46 M3 Daily Drivers, have you considered another DD?

Went to a 335I with bolt ons for a DD. After replacing damn near everything on the motor, I now DD a supecharged E90 M3. A supercharged E46 M3 SUCKS to DD since it makes all its power above 5000rpms.

Re: 635 WHP 407 WTQ Stock Engine SMG built by Meister Motoring and tuned by TTFS

As much as I love the S54, blown S65's are another animal. Look at the fuel required to hit 635whp. 100% E85 and meth. I'd be interested to see what type of power it can hit on pump alone or pump +...

Usually when the two mix and you get smoke from the exhaust, your HG is gone. It may not be leaking a ton but it might be leaking enough to warrant a replacement.

Re: VF480 SC kit added full Supersprint exhaust and no gain in power

Like everyone said, you should've seen not only a gain but a shift in the power band. Even with just adjusting my cutout, I can modulate how much back pressure I have and can feel the difference.

Completely jealous of that. I don't bother bringing my M3 out to autoX more than once or twice a year at most solely because I don't even hit past 7000k rpms in 2nd gear. If I had that near me, I'd...

Anyone who isn't FI that says it isn't needed doesn't know the under hood temps that we deal with. I'm looking forward to what you settle with.

Re: Vented Hood Opinions

I'm in the same dilemma. The M3 in the near future will be shifted to DD duty and being supercharged, I run into the same issue if not worst with the heat. That means it'll soon see rain and snow.

I'm at 90k miles on my 04 and put 10k/yr on it even as a weekend car. My DD racks up 15-20k a year. Guess I should switch it up at some point and DD the M3!

Re: New Gen S54 (Hypothethical/Theoretical)

Dual injection addresses some of direct injection flaws. What they could make is a 3.6 or 3.8 ltr straight 6 and go high compression like 13.5.1 (max I'd go with 93 oct).

A bit OT but I don't...

Re: Opinions on AA Headers and AA 100 Cell Section 1

Even with 200 cell cats, it still smells so 100 cell cats would be similar to not even running them at all. If you eliminated your cats, you'll get more rasp.

As for your headers, I made 500whp...
