Re: Megan Racing Headers

Cheap stuff, no QC, not surprised. Issues that might popup in the long run, i.e. leaks, welds breaking, etc. - definitely not worth it.

It's all the same made somewhere in Asia = poor QC. Where do you think the AP V2s, SGT V1s, Fabspeeds are (were) made? I'll give you a hint - it is not different factories.

Re: Megan Racing Headers

Won't be surprised when it happens... and by that I mean exhaust leaks. Fitment and lining them up to the studs would be another issue. Both are equally bad.

Re: Stalling issue on ALpha-N-, Maffless tune

No, it is the nature of Alpha-N. You can have a fully maintained car with no error codes running Alpha-N, and it still won't work as well as it did with the MAF.

Re: Stalling issue on ALpha-N-, Maffless tune

I can't say I believe you or anyone else who has said that their Alpha-N setup works without any issues. You are still in the honeymoon phase of getting your new upgrade, so don't rush to conclusions...

Re: P54B32 Airbox Oil Separator - Who has info on it?

Let's not add complexity to the design. One of the best aspects of the S54 is that it is a fairly simple, elegant design and easy to work on. Adding extra stuff is just not necessary.

Re: Stalling issue on ALpha-N-, Maffless tune

Check the idle control valve connections. If there is a vacuum leak somewhere, the engine will almost always stall when coming to a stop. Alpha-N drivability issues are not worth the headache. IMO,...

Very clean! I like the current look, but I think I preferred it a bit more in stock form since it was an original, 1 owner, 10k mile example when you bought it.

Curious about the choice for these...

Wow, the PO really made the car look cheap with all his "mods". It's not the worst I have ever seen, and most, if not all, of it looks reversible.

Re: BMW Performance Brakes on E46 M3

4pot 355 is more than enough for this car. Plus pads are less costly and the caliper weighs less than the 6pot.

For similar $, the ST40s with 355 2pc slotted rotors are hard to beat.

I would not assume that it is less sporty until you try it. The street pad could have OE-like pad characteristics, like more initial bite with some moderate dust. IMO, the stock BMW pads have too...

Re: Brake upgrade options

The ST-40 355 2pc rotor front kit is a great option for the non-ZCP cars. It keeps the stock brake bias and the kit is built to fit the E46 M3. The ST-40s have a large selection of pads as well.
