Re: E9X Platform

They don't have the wide fenders of other generations, but they are still a good looking car. They're also a blast to drive. In some ways, I enjoy mine more than the E46.

At their current values, they are quite tempting. Other than rod bearings and throttle actuators, they seem to be solid cars. I could definitely see myself adding one for the V8 alone as they sound...

Re: Project Imoly | E46 M3 Vert | Ultimate Weekend Cruiser Build

It's really refreshing to see a convertible get this awesome treatment. Keep up the great work!

Re: (Oil) What should I do?

Warranty it and replace.

Sorry, had to :)

Maybe you need an upgraded oil cooler if you're planning to track often?

Re: Jump Starting An SMG...Does This Mean It’s Actually A Manual Afterall?

Never thought about doing this with my SMG, I suppose it's good info to know even though I'll probably never try it.

Re: My 1995 Avus Blue M3 Coupe Project

I started getting a really bad squeal at anything over 2k rpms all at once. I thought maybe the idler pulley was shot, or something along those lines, as the belt itself looked to have been recently...

Re: What Jack are you using 2019?

I have a quickjack and love it. I don't have enough garage height for an actual lift, so this is the next best thing. For smaller, quick jobs I also have an otc aluminum jack and stands.

I...

Re: Time for tires - PS4S?

I've had great luck with Sumitomo HTRZIII tires and have had a few sets of them. Have had a few sets of Michelins as well. I use my cars as DD/weekend fun cars, not track, and feel like the Sumis...

I spoke to someone with that intake at a meet and he had removed his hood insulation to make it a little louder.

Re: Selling via wire transfer?

I sold my 997 this way. The buyer put the funds into my account and arranged for a truck to come to my house to collect the car. Overall it was pretty painless other than the first truck refusing...

Re: Key wont start first go?

Good clarification, thank you. I was applying my situation to everything but sounds like it really only applies to swapped DMEs.

Now that I think about it, my convertible came with an extra key...

Re: Key wont start first go?

When I swapped my wagon it would turn over like normal, fire and instantly die because the DME was from another car. Are you suggesting this was from something other than the EWS being mismatched?

Re: cop instigating street racing? Or someone genuinely bothered by stock note ?

You should have asked her what the retail was on her car and then smoked her.

Or ignored her completely.

One of those two, but nothing in the middle.

We may need pics of her to judge the...

Re: Key wont start first go?

When it won't start, does it keep turning over or does it start up and immediately die? EWS issues typically let the car start, but instantly kills the engine.

Re: My 1995 Avus Blue M3 Coupe Project

Yes, that's the one. I used a 3M mask that I had from back when I used to spray paint through a hvlp setup so hopefully everything is good as far as filtration. I didn't take the warnings lightly...

Re: My 1995 Avus Blue M3 Coupe Project

I think you're right. One more layer of paint might have done the trick but with the can starting to sputter, I didn't want to risk it. Either way, I'm extremely impressed with the spraymax 2k...
