yes I did get the solenoid replaced because I wanted to get all the major parts in there replaced and not worry about it any more. I didn't go with any of the anti-rattle kit or splined whatevers...

when I was talking about the maintenance costs, I was referring to the beater. Still gotta have some comfort about what's been done in it, to save you in long run costs.

depends on your priorities...as some have said, nothing wrong with making your beater exciting. if you're looking to keep costs low, then maybe the lower fuel efficiency of a v8 would be...

Yeah, 99% are CSL...I'm hoping there are some decent "rake" diffusers. Checked ebay and there were 2 that had potential, but not as aggressive as I was looking for...
