Re: Epic Friction Brake Pads

Yes and no. I do understand the point you are trying to make. I don't however believe that the incredibly dusty OEM pads are the only option. If you look at my original post I ask if anyone has...

Epic Friction Brake Pads

Have any of you had any experience with these? My goal is to reduce brake dust without losing any braking performance. I don't track the car but there is the occasional spirited driving.

Thanks

Re: Never buying a newer car. RANT.

I have both an e46 and an e92. They are both incredible but I have to say for pure driving the e46 is best for me. If I'm going on a longer drive, say away for the weekend, I take the e92, but for...

Re: New m3 and rod bearings

Has anyone ever removed and inspected their BE bearings to see how they look after a few 10k miles? Be interesting to see if they show less wear than the stock bearings.

Re: Dont hate it because its different...My bagged E92 M3 w/ 3pcs conversion BBS LM's

The lowering part is OK......not my cup of tea but if it works for you then by all means enjoy it. The camber is just ridiculous. Looks like a clown car. On an M3 or any other car for that matter.

Very slight diff whine.....normal?

I have a 2003.5 Coupe 6MT with 33k miles. At around 80 mph in 6th gear just cruising I can hear a high pitched whine from the diff. It is very minor and can be drowned out by road noise if the road...

Re: OEM Exhaust & Misc Components

[QUOTE=giOsaurus rEx;1067312151]Up for sale are USED OEM parts taken from a 2005 M3. Roughly 60-65k miles on parts before removing them. I am willing to ship but only if buyer pays. I am located in...

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

Thank you for the link to the poll thread. That stitches it. Reading through all those posts makes it clear to me that there is no question, none at all, as to whether or not proactive measures...

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

Thanks Dafoe. This is exactly the type of info I was looking for, and makes a very strong argument to proactively address the situation. At very least I think addressing the tab breakage issue...

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

What you have done is what I'm considering doing. It's worth the money to me for the peace of mind.

I'd love to know how many Vanos kits, rebuilt units, etc that the 3 Vanos specialists have...

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

That makes sense of course.

Why would you choose Besian over a Dr Vanos unit with the cryo treated exhaust/pump drive sprocket and new cam bolts?

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

I have read the Solenoid failure analysis thread and the info on his website.

Is there one that I have missed that discusses the % of failed units, and of the failed units how common is it for the...

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

If Raj has a feel for the percentage of units that actually fail and will share that info I'd agree with you.

Re: VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

That's just it....I'm mostly concerned with the hub tab(s) breaking and causing more severe internal damage like snapping the timing chain which would result in the valves and pistons being in the...

VANOS problems fact or over hyped?

With all the talk of bad VANOS units I am wondering what the true percentage of failures has really been.

Do you guys think as high as 50% of them blow up? Maybe more?

I have seen threads...

Re: Rogue Engineering Rasp Pipe or Rasp Terminator RTX

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I want to keep the stock section 1 intact so I can return the car to totally stock if I want to.

It has only 30k on it so this car will not be modded in any way...

Re: Rogue Engineering Rasp Pipe or Rasp Terminator RTX

No one but the guy that installs it will ever see it. I'm concerned only with the sound....rasp gone and no drone.

Re: Rogue Engineering Rasp Pipe or Rasp Terminator RTX

Thank you both for your responses. That's 2 for the RTX.

Do you both have the RTX with the crossover, and there's no drone or other changes to the exhaust sound?

Thanks again.

Rogue Engineering Rasp Pipe or Rasp Terminator RTX

Just bought an M3 Coupe 6MT with 30k miles and love everything about it except the rasp in the exhaust.

I know I could search, and I have, but it is difficult to wade through all the various...
