Ok, I will definitely have the car inspected.

Unfortunately, the local BMW dealer will not do any pre buy inspections so I am out of luck on that one. There are some decent independent shops...

A used one is probably the best option, this issue doesn't seem to be that common so I guess buying a used one would be min risk of encounter the same issue.

Gasket is oem, I guess the gasket could be leaking anyway but it has been less than 10K since last valve adjustment, CPV is bone dry.

It looks like there is oil leaking from the plug but its hard...

Well, the oil leak is definitely in the back of the cylinder head. No leaks close to the CPV, the plug that seems to be coming out of some cylinder heads looks solid as well.

Yes, I checked the wiring and it checked ok at 3K ohm. The switch has been replaced.

Also, the auto function that pushes up the window when the door is closed works fine. Basically, only the auto function with the switch is non functional.

Yes, I would say so.

However, I haven't driven a M3 E46 with new Sachs shocks so I can only compare with my car which had 70K+ at the time of replacement.

Tabs broken at approx. 63K

Vanos solenoid replaced shortly thereafter (Thank you again Beisan for your help with the solenoid).

All Bolts were solid and attached but were replaced anyway.

Well, I am happy with the total outcome, definitely less dive and overall slightly stiffer compared to OEM.

I am 6-04 200lbs, long legs though! BMW is one of few car manufactures where I am comfortable. M3 E46 is perfect for me but there is no space in the backseat.

I think you can use any navigation software that operates on Windows CE, I never tried Garmin but let me know if it works.

2003.5 is May 2003, if the one you are looking at is January 2003, it would be 2003.1

Check the vin number and you will see the manufacturing date.

Seems like quite a few doesn't have any problems even in the summer, I guess the real test for me will be next spring when it starts to get warmer in north Texas.

The spal fan is an option that I have considered.

Did you notice any change in engine temp when you drove without the fan?
