Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

Funnily enough, mine never made it to the track. I took my E92 M3 out and had a blast, but I figured consumables were going to get expensive really quickly with that one. I decided on getting the E36...

Re: Almost traded my e36 M3 for an e39 M5

Interesting comparison, and very cool to see people sticking to their E36s. To be honest, I find it very refreshing as the car is the ugly step child of the M family, and usually the first on my list...

Re: 2019 Toyota Tundra Pickup Scores Poorly in Crash Test

I'm actually looking to pick up a current gen Tundra Platinum when the new one comes out and keep it forever. I have a beater 97 4Runner I use to haul dogs and stuff, but it would be nice to get a...

Re: Is my poor e46 M3 totaled?

If your car is not a daily driver, I would get a policy with agreed upon values. That's what I have on all 3 of my M's, which do cover some of the mods too. It ended up being far cheaper than what I...

Re: How far Iíve gotten with the M?

This is how I approach things as well. While these cars are maintenance hogs, there's just nothing else out there I'd rather have. I dream of a Porsche 997 Turbo, but not at the expense of having to...

Re: Wow, that was a close call!

Don't mind investing in one since I need to do that to my E92 M3 as well at some point.

The reason I'm holding off on the Z4M is because I know it's going to be a big rabbit hole because I'd want...

And this is exactly why I parked my Z4M. Just got to have time to gather parts and do it. Thought about sending it to a shop, but I'd rather save on the labor and learn, plus I have access to a...

Re: In 10 yrs.

Forgot about this. Wrote a few pages that I was probably going to sell it and add an M2 when it came out. Ended up passing on the N55 M2 (glad I did because I much prefer the M2C), kept the E36 and...

True, but he mentioned S2k and Elise, that's why I brought up the Roadster. For a track car, I agree, maybe not best option. But for a weekend car, I think it's probably the best one for the money...

Re: Transitioning into the M world

OP, if the car is truly a weekend car, I'd consider adding the Z4M Roadster to your list. It's one hell of a driving experience, but not as modable as E46. It's more of an occasion in my humble...

Re: Posted on the 964 forum, thought folks here might be interested

For me personally, I dont mind water cooled, but it would positively have to be a 997 platform. My dream has always been a 997.1 TT, but those costs as much as all my M's combined. Maybe one day!

Re: So BMW finally released S58. Thoughts?

If those numbers are correct, then it's slicktop vs slicktop. The difference between pano vs CF would quite significant.

It's hard to try to extrapolate data, but as I mentioned, the E92 would be...

Re: So BMW finally released S58. Thoughts?

That's good to know.

From experience, I can tell you that how you setup the BIW can easily affect more than 250 nm/deg so I would kind of take all these results with a grain of salt :)

Re: So BMW finally released S58. Thoughts?

I don't know about the E90M, I've never had a chance to see if they got extra stiffening underneath.

E90 vs E92 would be a pretty big difference, whether it's an M or not. Just quickly looking at...

Re: So BMW finally released S58. Thoughts?

Just to clarify a few things. Regarding the F80, here's a quote from an article:

BMW claims the M3's torsional stiffness is over 40,000 Newton-meters per degree, approaching that of the 2004 BMW...
