You can you 1ml of commercial grade antifoam. You can find it anywhere pretty much. It will work just the same as water wetter. Water wetter I believe just has added corrosion inhibitors in it....

Just finished doing a vanos overhaul. No issues with the hub. It was replaced with a TT V3 hub as preventative maintenance. I also have the S54 sprocket hub diaphragm spring and pressure plate

You should not be rubbing on anything with a 245. I run a 255 squared track setup, and 255 squared road setup with the car lowered to 5 inches off the ground or 13.25 inch from center hub to fender....

Is any weld the "proper" weld for overhead? With a mig gun its hard to see where your even pointing the thing sometimes. Also with a mig gun you can easily overheat an area.

If it were me, I would remove the CDV first. Simple job and makes a huge difference on engagement and speed of the clutch. It may solve your issues like it did for me. Then I would do fluid.
