Re: Mr. JWW CSL review

Might need a steering giubo, but his comments about it feeling lighter as you got to higher speeds seemed odd to me. The giubo from what I remember just makes everything feel kinda loose and...

You can actually do the VIN using the FGNR_SCHRIEBEN job in NCS. But usually when a DSC module complains about a VIN, it's really complaining about the steering angle sensor (though the VIN has to...

Check your igniters. I’ve found over time the outer pins get bent a little too far outwards and don’t make a good connection with the bulb. I just bent them inwards and it stopped flickering over...

I would assume heís not using the stock pressure plate if he went to a triple disc clutch, so I doubt the SAC is an issue here.

Re: SMG in non M3

Rare in general, especially in the US. A few 330s (non-ZHP only) and even fewer 325s got the SMG (which is different from both the SMGI in the E36 M3 and SMGII in the E46 M3). Transmission is based...

Re: Feeler - New Years Group Buy: CMP AE Subframe Raising & RTA bushing

I've installed a steering giubo before. Still, a race car that's inspected semi frequently is very different from a street car.

Re: Feeler - New Years Group Buy: CMP AE Subframe Raising & RTA bushing

Yeah you're right. But also notice the RHD piece has a u joint after the coupler while the LHD piece does not. In the case of the LHD cars, I think a solid disk would put extra stress on the pinion. ...

Re: Aluminum steering coupler

Oh I agree, but apparently the part that's doing the collapsing is the shaft itself (it telescopes with enough force).

However, it’s also...

Re: Feeler - New Years Group Buy: CMP AE Subframe Raising & RTA bushing

If I’m not mistaken, the steering giubo partly exists so that it can sheer in the event of a crash and allow the steering column to collapse rather than intrude into the cabin. If that is the case,...

Re: Schrick cams are you using dlc coated rockers?

Thatís probably worth the risk then really. Based on forum experience the odds of failure seem quite low - not enough to double your expense (more if paying for labor)

Huh, why on earth are those pieces more expensive than the fender liners themselves?

I don't have one, but they also seem to be used on the non-M coupes - junk yards might have them.

Only other thing to check would be the positive terminal by the drug bin. Though if that was loose, you'd probably have trouble starting your car.
