Anyone successfully order a CSL filter recently?

My ECS order keeps getting pushed back. Attempted ordering from a US dealer I bought it from before, ended up getting a stock M3 filter. Then told the CSL filter is NLA.

I would sure hope it's...

Re: Turner Polyurethane Shifter Arm Carrier Bushing

Noise - basically a little extra gear whine, doesn’t bother me.
Vibrations - less than stock believe it or not
Harshness - the shifter definitely feels less “damped” going into each gate. It goes...

Re: Turner Polyurethane Shifter Arm Carrier Bushing

I still like the feel of it, but after my shifter bushing mount ripped off my chassis, I am wary of recommending it. Granted I seem to be the only one who experienced that failure mode so far. Maybe...

Re: Input on possible CSL bumper and trunk creation

That's frankly better fitment than my stock bumper. I think we've got a real winner here if the quality is consistent.

Re: Vanos pressure woes and solutions

The way I understand the hydraulic diagram, the lack of the pressure relief valve would make the pressure against the vanos gears essentially 0. That lack of pressure would reduce lubrication, and...

The steering wheel controls work without the USB adapter. The headunit has its own translator for that stuff (which they erroneously call a can-bus adapter)

You could get the z4m knob. Itís lighted, but otherwise shaped exactly like yours so you can retain your boot

Re: E60 vs BMW Performance shift lever

Other way around in this case. The transmission selector rod has to move a fixed distance. The ratio of the length above and below the pivot point determines how long your throws are. The longer the...

I don't remember when they started selling theirs, but at least their mount for the sensor is fairly unique.

At least they make it easy to disable. Probably would rather have that situation than have to pay the gas guzzler tax.

NZ_M3's alternative is a good one too: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=592556

If my OE one ever fails, that's the way I'll go.

Re: Can I swap another smg dme into mine with no issues?

It's not so much that they know, but that they learn the clutch bite time and such of the transmission they were mated to. You have to run the adaption routine if you change ECUs.

Re: Rank these full sized luxury car front ends from Best to Worst

That center piece on the audi grill helps it a lot though. Makes it look more like an evolution of the previous hood grill + bumper grill setup. The BMWs just look comical.

Re: Oil pump mounting bolts part number?

It's possible / probable. BMW has replaced a lot of allen bolts with torx bolts over the years. VANOS bolts are a good example of that.

Not directly, but e39 non-Ms have the oil level sensor wired into the LCM. The app calculates oil temp based on values requested from the LCM using a similar calculation as found in the dme.
