AFAIK, only the US dropped the option. It was available from start to end of production in ROW.

Re: Are there any steering shaft extensions (cabin side) to get the wheel towards dri

Of course. But at the angle the shaft is, the increase in height is less than the amount of extension. So unless you have a huge extension, I doubt youíll notice.

^^
Aren’t most US M3’s donned with that old abominable 4-spoke wheel?

And this one only on the late production models?

Re: Oil Level Sensor?

Tilt steering column was a safety / not DOT compliant issue. Not costs.

And they added it to the EU 3.2, so there is no "cutting anything" in this context.

Re: Oil Level Sensor?

Only the EU M3 3.2 models have the oil level sensor. (plus level warning light)

Hence the "check oil level regularly" sticker on the gauge cluster (and omission thereof on the EU 3.2's)

Re: E36 M3: Part Deux - The Car Diaries

I'd always go for the 96+ (98.5 for US?) wheel. I've had the 3-spoke wheel you pictured as the factory wheel in my 328i and upgraded to the M airbag wheel and it was just better in every way.

These an option?

They are not the M3 version, but at least genuine gray. Keep in mind in EU we don't have "M3" on...

No learning for starting.

EU master keyfobs need initialization for its remote locking/unlocking function.

Re: Brake Pad Sensor Connector

The other connector is for the ABS sensor. Could be the plug as
well, or the sensor.

You just have both problems as the same time, but they are not related. That would’ve been a major design...

Trying to visualize this, but no luck.

ABS has no relation with brakepad sensor if that’s what you’re saying.

Re: Fix a sagging glove box door.

^^
Don’t agree. People need to stop forcing parts apart. That is what breaks these tabs/hooks.

My E36’s are 21+ and 19+ years old and never suffered from sagging gloveboxes.

I love period correct electronics

But either CD43 or BE2450/2455 with aftermarket interface gives you the best of both worlds, imo.

Strictly speaking, if you just want to ditch the cassette, read: want newer media options, you can also add an aftermarket interface to your OEM unit that utilizes the CDC connection.

You can have...

Re: Bought new Used 97 M3 - Keys arent matching

Your thought is spot on (exactly right).

4 keys come with the car, (thus) you can order up to 6 spares. After that you would need a new EWS2 unit (through the official way)

Re: OEM Radio Alternative

BE2450/BE2455 BMW Professional RDS if you want the top-of-the-line head unit.

It’s not a “world” unit like the CD43 so RDS might not work.

Re: Bought new Used 97 M3 - Keys arent matching

The EWS is aligned with the DME/ECU.

They keys/locks are linked to EWS. There is no direct link between keys/locks and DME/ECU.

Lol, typical Brat reply. And all his nuttsuckers joining in, because all they can do is parrot along.
