compared to my e36...

i really liked the mid range of the e36 m3. more useable in daily driving/traffic and car felt much more light and tossable.

i prefer to have my traction control off...

failed emissions test o2 sensors

i failed the local emission test in Ontario.

codes came up though there was no engine light

p0133 o2 sensor circuit slow response bank 1 sensor 1

p0161 o2 sensor heater circuit bank 2 sensor...

I pulled the instrument cluster (broke all 3 plastic 'latches' either removing or reinstalling) and inspected.

split the cluster...

my obc is in need of repair. i can barely read it. i ordered a new strip and will install shortly. my cheapie multi meter is consistent but probably not ideal. i'll check with a good multi meter...

phonsalb. sounds like you know way too much about the thermostat, fan switch, water pumps and yikes... head gaskets.

so i must have gotten up to 265F because i ran it in the red for a short...

i have the 440 and will look for the 318 unit with the `bung` that fits the m3 radiator. splice and tape up. the hoseclamp sounds like good insurance. would a decent size plastic tie wrap work?

pbonsalb, maybe you are referring the aux fan clutch?

how does these normally kick on?

mine seem to not move at all so i assume they run off some kind of clutch. again similar to the setup...

i don`t have a fan clutch. it is the spial electric fan upgrade and doesn`t kick in until i reach above normal operating temperature... i will look at the switch that comes on with lower water...

forget the 71 deg thermostat. i'm running no thermostat to test what happens. my engine is still overheating and likely due to water pump which i'll replace this weekend and pop the thermostat back...

I first drove a 1995 M3 when it was pretty much out of the box new almost 20 years ago. Nice to own one finally. Good handling, quick, fun to drive.

Hope they're not too painful to maintain....
