Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

What I meant was that if you sell the car with all the mods on it you probably won't make anywhere close to what you put into it.

However, if you part it out and return it to stock before selling...

I know, I do deserve it, no denying that. I should have thought out my thread title a little bit more before posting it. Unfortunately we can't edit thread titles... Doh!

But yes, my thread title...

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

He has his panties in a bunch. He likely spent well over 5k on his OE CSL air box, so to see a thread like this (coming from someone much younger than he is) is probably incredibly offensive.

In...

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

I missed your post! This sounds interesting and would be something I'll definitely consider if they make one for the E46 M3. I'm really just after the sound anyways.

Thanks! I agree as well... I wasn't trying to start a war. I was just bringing up something I've been thinking about lately. I'm not poor, I'm not still in school, in fact, I make a lot of money....

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

The only reason I want a CSL intake is the sound, period. That being said, I should have changed my original post to say something along the lines of, "Why doesn't someone make an intake that sounds...

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

Oh I completely agree. I was thinking somewhere more in the ballpark of $1500. I know that something like this could never be done for $400.

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

I think if someone could figure this out and get the price point right they would have a lot of serious buyers. Just a thought...

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

I whole heartldly agree with you. There are absolutely no exhausts that sound good on this car, period. Are you just running a stock exhaust then with the CSL intake? Cats or no cats?

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

And that's really what I am after... The sound. It would be nice to see a reasonably priced intake that sounds amazing. The CSL intake is mostly just about sound and looks. I am sure it can make some...

Agreed! I don't get the guys who run the expensive coilovers on the street. I am happy with my Koni and eibach setup.

Re: The biggest waste of money modification ever: Why not make it out of plastic?

Well putting the sound factor aside for a moment a plastic one would yield the same gains in terms of numbers so that combine with a cheaper manufacturing cost would make it a bit more justifiable...
