Yeah the first pull was awful. By the last pull we got that initial jump to just under 15 and quickly smoothed out by 3k rpm. Definitely wasn't helping but don't think its the source of the timing on...

I don’t think we’ve been given enough information to assume anything other than bad bearings and crappy timing for a dyno. Head gasket was pure speculation from OP and he hasn’t given us any failure...

What high costs are you continuing to experience with the s54? Generally once you lock down the vanos and the rod bearings it's pretty bullet proof to repeated track days. And those are fairly cheap...

I did that for a while. Then I got the right tool and the bmw clamps are actually easier and quicker to get on/off. Not to mention cleaner looking.

Preferably I'd like to have a separate setup for each eventually. But other projects keep side tracking me. When I get to it the 10" et25 squared will be track and likely a staggered setup for street.

For stock flywheel applications I would go with Ravenol MTF-2 as its apparently the closest thing to OE fluid you can get. I'm currently running Motul Gear 300 (75w90) to help with my 11lb aluminum...

Trans fluid does indeed affect flywheel chatter. You are mistaken that the chatter comes from the flywheel itself. It's caused by the flywheel but the chatter is from the gears in your tranny...

Nice tool! Most of us aren't stock, some far from stock so would be nice to be able to estimate our current duty cycle on pump gas based on what kind of power we're making if that's possible.
