I can almost guarantee this is a hood switch. Next time it doesn't want to start - open and close the hood and try again. If it starts right away - replace your hood switch.

2 fronts, 2 rears, in great shape, no rust.
$95 for the set plus shipping (prob. about $25 in US).

Replace your tired ones, or buy a spare set. These have about 87K miles on them.

Mats with grommets are discontinued. But, you can still buy the grommets and little twist locks. So, buy regular mats, punch a hole, install the grommet/locks and you are good to go.

You should be fine as long as the entire nut is over a stud. If not, you need a longer stud/bolt.

Get a good welder and weld those together. If you running anything but stock shocks/springs, consider switching to less harsh ones.

Bilstein B6 question

Does anybody know what the hex/tread/pitch of the Bilstein B6 front strut top mount nut is? I'm thinking its 22mm M12 x 1.25 but wanted to confirm, cause I lost the nuts and need to order some...

I've done it when I was replacing my pulleys and tensioners, but luckily noticed it before I drove for the first time. Was wondering what would happen if I didn't and it appears nothing would have. :)

Are you saying that the threaded portion of the shaft is not long enough to thread the top nut so it holds the mount tightly without that washer? I guess I'm just not seeing how the beveled edge...

Steering fluid should be red (ATF), but if yours filled with Pentosin CHF 11s it could be "oil-like" color.

Umm, I know what part numbers I need, thanks. I also thought that sensors are the same both pre and post cat. Apparently the difference is in the wire length.

So I finally got the dreaded P0153 code, so I need a set of oxygen sensors - what is the consensus on what to get these days and who has the best price? I see Bosch/NTK on Amazon for about $60 - good...

Agreed - I don't think that beveled washed does anything to help mate the two surfaces tbh. Just a bigger area for the mount to rest on.

I see - I'm not re-using anything - just going to take out stock strut as a whole - don't want to mess with taking apart the strut and messing with spring compressors twice for couple of pieces that...

So, I got the B12 kit incoming, also got the front and rear mounts, but need to pick up a bunch of other little pieces like bump stops and rubbers, etc.

Sumis are fantastic tire for the money. They do NOT outperform Michelins, but they cost half as much, and deliver 95% of the same.

Front bearings are easy. The hardest part was undoing set screws on the rotors!

Majority of old M3 owners are gearheads. Usually curious about how things work, and like to save money on more mods instead of paying somebody to do the job. We like to wrench.

Very much agree. I have several cars, and there is always something on at least one car that needs to be done. Tinkering with these is just part of it. And like you said - if I'm not fixing/upgrading...

Is your delay similar to the time it takes an average person to push the clutch in, change the gear, and release the clutch (~1 second), or more like 2-3 seconds?
