If i wanted to buy a v8, it would really have to get out of it's own way.. Turbo 3.0 is the only way to buying a newer fast BMW..That or the turbo v8..now that's something. The F90 sounds good too.

Yeah I noticed the transitions from round to flatter piping,and the bends. I'm not sure how much that affects flow, but it sure doesn't flow enough beyond a certain power level.

Quite a bit of difference I believe . It will be louder without a resonator for sure. I've tested this on two cars albeit with custom 2.5 sec2s. The none-resonated car is noticibly louder.

If you're going to SC your car,definitely go with upgraded pipes and cats. Upgraded as in larger diameter . Horsepower is directly related to your engine's cfm output . You will overheat much less...

You'll have to retune for the new sec2 as well. That single 3 inch will disappoint you, so brace for impact :D

I wouldn't be surprised if you got near 20rwhp Ian. I got 22rwhp from a full system (including sec3) .Not to mention that you were running a 3inch single.. which would have been more restrictive...

The same power with a stock airbox/intake is a hard no. Unless higher compression pistons or an unsafe amount of timing advance. Like 34 or something. But it is a bit low on power I would expect...

Ok. Long version.
Bearing failure on the s54 is typical of any high rpm engine. In fact it betters engines with similar redlines and requires a rod bearing change typically from 80 to 130k miles...

Stock mls. Don't use be bearings.

I would use the tms bushing.. seems a bargain and well made. I'm glad I hadn't pulled the trigger on my rtabs yet!

I agree with this conclusion. The extra flow is only needed when u make more power (more gases need to go thru the system). Scorpion is a pos we agree on that. Oe is great with the stock pipes.

Did u check the oil pressure or vanos? it needs a to be at 110 bar. Check that and report back .
