Re: Are Panoramic roofs worth it on the Cayenne?

Might be if that was true. The old 3 panel pano-roof on Cayennes (pre-2011) did make some noise, and had a rep for being "difficult"..

The important part is what the flat face surfaces look like. I'd imagine the ones in the center of each stack are fine, since the shims come from the factory with a bit of oil on them (and the stacks...

Re: Evans Coolant?

IIRC (and it's entirely possible I don't..) in a discussion of this magic coolant - it was analyzed and found to simply be 100% ethylene-glycol or propelene-glycol (or a mix - aka - antifreeze,...

Re: Broken spring? or wrong coils? (pic inside)

Broken BMW springs are a plague on these cars.. usually the bottom coil is lost when they break, making the corner that's broken lower. Sometimes both sides go. Answer is new springs.

Re: How long can a car sit on a flat tire for?

To answer your question - a car can sit on a flat tire forever.. it really doesn't care. As far as your tire - if it was leaking - WHY didn't you get it fixed? And if it couldn't be inflated - why...

Considering the makeup oil added (3-4 quarts?) - I'd be looking at replacing those camshafts real soon now. The makeup oil obviously contributed to the good numbers (like the ZDDP package additives)...

Re: Having problems charging dead battery

That is correct, especially as low as 2V. It's a gonner, it's kaput, it's dead, it's nailed to the perch.

Get a new battery. Lightweights are typically lightweight in actual CCA - so if you have...

Re: Of all the cars you have ever owned, what is your favorite?

I look at what models I've had repeats of..

Volvo P1800(S, E) - had 6 of them. The '69 was the best. Had 225,000 miles on it when I sold it - original clutch and engine never touched.

BMW...

Re: positive power wire for line output converter in trunk?
