Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

Really like the way the molded E46 arches look.

This type of failure is always in the back of my mind. Glad it went as well as it could have for you.

See you back on track soon.

Re: What's a better OEM clutch kit Sachs or Excedy?

I just pulled a Sachs clutch at 162k, and it still has another 50k of life in it. It worked flawlessly. You hear about OEM clutches going 200k all the time. You will never hear that about Exedy. In...

Re: Top speed?

125+ (no aero) through all of Turn 8 @ (WSIR) Big Willow. I am assuming 130+ on the banking @ Autoclub Speedway in a couple weeks for Bimmerfest, will find out shortly.... cornering well into the...

Re: Calling all SoCal trackers.

:hattip:

I registered, but the car is not ready yet.... I missed Bimmerfest last year due to "car" issues as well. I am hoping history does not repeat itself. :kittyshifty:

130+ on the banking...

Re: 2018 Bimmer Challenge Series

Not sure why this version isn't showing the 1 other 200 treadwear tire that are worth a 1.5 points, but it has most of them (3/4)

Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

I have A/C & cruise control still... the rest, not so much. Robert Choo of Chewerks with the Dakar M3 in B5 class still has most of his rear interior & back seat, with a rollbar. It seems that we...

Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

No build thread, but willing to share what I have learned with other competitors.

I think we very different ideas of what a 100% street car should be, but mine is, and has always been a daily...

Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

Yes, my street tire PB is 34s on RSRR and Race springs. Had a misfire above 6200 rpm that kept me speed limited to 120mph, so I only mustered a mid 35 with the KWv3 and r comps. Has solid 32s in it,...

Re: My 99' Hellrot intro

I was wondering whose beautiful coupe this was on Saturday. Love the wheels.

Hope to see you at some other events before it gets too hot!

Re: Need suspension input (yes another one)

Yeah, you are correct right about the perch location on the Bilsteins being above the tire. A spacer will still be needed for any offset above 35, depending on tire size (overall diameter + tread...

Re: Need suspension input (yes another one)

You may need a slightly larger spacer up front to clear the spring perch & spring, due to the camber shims, which will move the tire closer to the strut housing.

Obviously this will be dependent...

Re: Need suspension input (yes another one)

That will only yield -2.5 camber, you will need to shim the strut for another degree, and -3.5 is a really good spot for street tires (200 tw). I ran this exact setup for nearly 2 years on/off track....

Re: Need suspension input (yes another one)

Flip the top mounts left side to right side, & right side to left side, and you will have -2.5 camber without camber plates on 96+ M3's. I shimmed the strut for another degree of negative camber up...
