simple maths puts your bump travel at 2.1", assuming 1.5" droop.
the available bump travel of spring is 2.4", therefore you've got 0.3" of leeway.

only way to confirm irl is to measure actual.

Re: FCM E46 M3 Ride Harmonizer suspension spreadsheet (bounce freqs, FRC, roll stiffn

dont forget, 350lb/in is twice as stiff as stock; so if you're crashing around at 3x stock stiffness @ 525, your front struts are setup wrong.

surprised you're bottoming out with 525 front springs.
i've been driving on 450 springs for a long time and only had problems when the strut length was adjusted wrong - the shock body was just off...

Re: FCM E46 M3 Ride Harmonizer suspension spreadsheet (bounce freqs, FRC, roll stiffn

a physics question;
as per spreadsheet, flat ride should be designed around a targeted roadspeed. at that point the harmonics damp themselves out, more stable ride etc etc.
but if we're nowhere...

it will confuse your mk20. mine would protest at speed around corners esp in the wet.
so, i just switch it off.

the rack imo is perfect for our cars. a tad faster; just feels more natural. also...

given the amount of tracking you plan to do, i'd think your current wheel set with some decent 200tw rubber will fit the bill.
otherwise, def go for the arc8's

Re: E46 M3 Enthusiast Build

no experience personally, but i'd look at cams (even 280/272) to get the motor breathing better.
then things like ported throttles will make the most of this additional airflow.

i think the important takeaways here are:
1. exposed trumpets lose power due to heat soak, so not feasible for power upgrades
2. csl style airbox is necessary if you want to make power n/a.

yeah you need a longer spring if you're running that soft.
i had to remove my 6kg springs, because at 7" long, the spring was binding up before the shock hit bumpstops.

soft pedal? could be the MC on its way out, or the rubber guide bushings on the calipers flexing, and wearing the pad unevenly.

i'm toying with the idea of using a catch can designed for diesels.
it has a replaceable filter and is designed to minimise carbon build up in the intake.
