Re: re-dye, re-upholster or leave them alone?

Youíre not using strong enough APC. Try Simple Green full strength (just donít spot it on the seat, it will leave clean ďwater spotsĒ.). Then eraser soaked in water (not dripping, but not dry).

Re: re-dye, re-upholster or leave them alone?

Steering wheels are already quite thin in their coatings if used and worn. I would not use the eraser there.

Re: re-dye, re-upholster or leave them alone?

You really can't remove those. Just clean the seats as thoroughly as you can and these imperfections become much more tolerable. Dirt in crevices/cracks are always going to be an eyesore.

Re: I have spent hours trying to get a new front door actuator installed

It’s a 5min procedure if you’re not dicking with the catch. All you need to do is pop the actuator off the new one and swap it on the old one. Your latch is fine, it’s the brushed motor in the...

Re: Proper seam sealer and undercoat spray?

There is no black rubberized coating on the car. It's a beige spray seam sealer/coating.

SEM EZ Coat has a whole line of color matched spray paints for this exact application. The sprayable seam...

Yours actually looks legit. The one I got from FCP was branded VDO (which is owned by Siemens). The casings had minor differences too. Swapping in the BMW branded Siemens unit resolved every issue I...

Re: Stock Spoiler on new M3?

Looks genuine since the vert spoiler is known to sag (it is genuine).

I would ditch it. That one is already sagging and they get worse with age.

You can look this stuff up yourself as well....

Re: Differential play - Rebuild time?

I'm not even talking about this specific diff. Every differential is this way (less the stubby passenger output shaft on the E46M unit).

Re: Differential play - Rebuild time?

No they are not. Far too many post up these videos of them turning output shafts back and forth freaking out over the noise. There is lash in a normal working diff, period.

The passenger side...

Re: Differential play - Rebuild time?

Actually they are supposed to clunk (to an extent) and they grind when the FM Booster is not used.

If you have done everything else, then yeah... I would dive into the diff.

Diffs are not supposed to be tight and quiet.

Where’s your list of driveline Giubo/CSB, subframe mounting, subframe crack check, differential mounting, trans and engine mounting maintenance?...

Re: Thoughts on these error codes

I do not see how this allows coupe hoods to open further. I spent too much time dicking with a costumers car today. Coupe latches do not allow for increased hood opening like the sedan does. The torx...
