Re: Discoloration in rear shock towers

I wouldn’t use any of that. Get proper paint and metal prep at an auto body shop. Home Depot repairs are tacky. SEM EZ-coat has a variety of colors that match the OEM underbody colors.

Re: Discoloration in rear shock towers

That is DIRT. Simple Green clean the towers with a tooth brush. There's absolutely no way rust is coming through the seam sealer there... it's just dirt. Obviously under that tray is a rust spot, but...

We've seen at least one fake CSL trunk that was trying it's best to be "OE" down to the raised part numbers. The cutouts for key hole and such looked bad and gave it away.

ChrisFix is a kids show. It's for people new to cars that are naive (I do however like his video style). It's easy for you to criticize when you have no knowledge in the matter. :hattip:

That’s not a missing gasket (it’s supposed to look like that) and the oil leak is not from the bolt. You likely have a leaking pan gasket if the CPV is not the issue.

I have an E60 M5 diff sitting exactly like that and a good wet spot as well. My assumption was seal, and it had signs of weepage before I washed it all.

Seconded, do not run a lower temp thermostat. Track use only. The car will run more efficiently and get better MPG with the stock thermostat.

Re: unplugged DME, now car wont start

There are two plugs that are the same and can be mixed up on the engine ECU and SMG ecu. ARE YOU SURE they are correct?
