Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

Mspec is running totally different shocks than Konis, fyi.

My comments about Genuine BMW shocks is that they may or may not be identical to the much cheaper Sachs aftermarket alternatives. And...

Sure, could be. As I said, been a while so perhaps I'm not recalling.

I actually have konis in the car and dinan springs in the rafters. Hmmmm..... I have been thinking about trying it again.

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

Most comfort? Brand new genuine BMW shocks with stock springs. I ran this recently and it was no contest. Sure, it can be nervous at times, but when fresh, the stock setup is the most comfy overall,...

Re: Best Daily Driver Suspension?

I'll second the Koni + Dinan combo. It's quite nice for a sporty street setup with a very mild drop. You can tell it's lowered but it doesn't look like a lowered car, if that makes sense.

Good...

I love both manuals and SMG/DCT so, putting the SMG's reliability aside, I would not consider the swap a great value, per se. It's expensive to do right and in the end you gain some and you lose...

Re: SMG adaption for 3.91 gears?

Dude, no.

In manual mode it will downshift at 1k rpm. It is MEANT to hold the gear you're in until the very last possible moment (stalling) since it thinks you want to be in full control. If it...

Re: SMG adaption for 3.91 gears?

Re: Advanced Fuel Dynamics - PROFLEX E85 flex fuel option

Good stuff but I'm confused on why you'd run pure e85. If the stock timing targets are hit around 93/94 octane then about 4 gallons of e85 are sufficient.

No?

Eh... wait. I'm am not talking about sound. Purely power delivery.

Both motors sounds fabulous at full tilt, bone stock, in my opinion.

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

Well, the bittersweet thing about all of this is that the wifey is smitten over the E90M. It's literally perfect to her... so at least it wasn't a mistake/waste. And don't get me wrong, I'm fortunate...

Yeah, the S65 really illustrates what a torque dip in the midrange can do to the overall driver experience. The S54 peaks right smack in the middle of the tack and so it's building and building from...

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

I don't like the E9XM with exhaust - makes me cringe. It takes all the focus away from the "good" sounds, which are its induction noises. And here it sounds absolutely incredible, bone stock. It...

I've decided that I definitely prefer the 46, but for reasons that surprise me.

The E9XM has a better chassis, turns in with more authority, handles objectively better, corners flatter, has better...

Re: OEM Strut & Spring Replacement ; equal to or better then

One of these days I'm going to try the PSS10s with a softer set of springs. I ran this setup on one of my E36 M3s with fantastic results and I know it'd be killer for the 46M.

I like the...

Re: EU rotors or ECS 2pc or?

I meant only rear ZCP rotors with euro fronts. I'm pretty happy with the stock brakes assuming OE pads.

That said, the factory ZCP setup is notably more powerful so may go that route.

Re: EU rotors or ECS 2pc or?

I'm leaning the same way: Euro fronts with ZCP rears for a 'stock' upgrade. Lose some weight and add a little bling without breaking the bank.

For the fronts, I guess we have to go Zimmerman.

Re: Camber Plates

No problem - you just order them 'that way'. The Vorshlags are fantastic race plates and, of course, can be used on the street.

But they do increase impact harshness and reduce refinement. A lot?...

This would be a great car...

I mean "inwards", toward the axle center line. You want to crush the extender into itself which will release it.

Sorta like removing OE rtabs.

That's the harshness that most non-OE parts add, which I cannot tolerate as I find the stock harshness, with 19s, to be borderline as it is.

If anything, I was to decrease the hard hits over...
