Re: well... this is turning into a nightmare

With the stock hub you should put them in the Beisan drilled holes. If the disk you received is not damaged (and you are 100% sure its not), then IF you really wanted to, yes you could use a TTV3...

Re: well... this is turning into a nightmare

Thats true. I didnt think of that because my disk went in as preventative and the disk i got back seemed to have gone in as preventative too so the holes were pristine.

Re: Oil Catch Can Error 221

I totally missed your reply. Radium told me the same thing to reconnect the secondary to the valvetrain side port. But you end up letting dirty air, though a smaller amount, back into the intake.

Re: VANOS splineshaft question

For mine if I have my VANOS face up and I rotate the exhaust side the piston drops in pretty far with the spline attached. The intake side only moves a little.

Re: VANOS splineshaft question

Same thing happened to me. I was always concerned but my VANOS test says the adjustment time is near optimal. I wouldn't worry unless it's super crazy stuck.

DIY: Vanos hub + bolts

The way I did it though I used the end cap to push the piston in a slight amount right before i finally tightened the timing, so it was bottomed out on the end cap at the time timing was locked (pins...

Re: DIY: Vanos hub + bolts

Just for reference, my intake side was perfectly flat after locking timing but like 2mm off the head after hand rotating. I was super annoyed and kept retiming it and getting the same result. In the...

Sensor is to let air in at low throttle angle. Not sure why and not sure its advantage over the pre 05 model. But whatever.

Contrary to what was posted, it seems like it will result in SES. I...

Re: Oil Catch Can Error 221

Just a quick update. Spoke to Radium and it was an omission in their documentation (which I hope they fix so they don't put someone else in my spot). They apparently developed the oil catch can with...

Re: DIY: Vanos hub + bolts

1) it's better to make sure it fits smoothly. I tested mine by wiping some oil on the pin and tapping the pin in with the tip of my pinkie. it mostly slid in by gravity but your pin might be...

Re: Oil Catch Can Error 221

if this error is indeed related to the secondary PCV, then swapping the rail would t do anything because it would be coded in. and if it's not coded, couldn't you just unplug it then?

Also don't forget to carefully hand crank the engine after you torque down all the timing elements to verify no interference.

I guess MAYBE the factory method using shop air to push the piston back would get you the closest. But IMHO 0 is all luck. I thought I did mine perfect and it was still at 3 on the intake. It's ok...
