Re: Turner hub extenders removal

I mean "inwards", toward the axle center line. You want to crush the extender into itself which will release it.

Sorta like removing OE rtabs.

For sure one time use. I had to destroy them to get them off. I essentially pounded them inwards at the hub lip with a punch and large hammer. They will eventually fall out. They fit snugly, that's...

Re: Best no compromise FCAB? Does that exist?

That's the harshness that most non-OE parts add, which I cannot tolerate as I find the stock harshness, with 19s, to be borderline as it is.

If anything, I was to decrease the hard hits over...

Re: Best no compromise FCAB? Does that exist?

Ha, exactly my thoughts. If you want "the best" you generally have to pay for it. Next, $300 isn't that much money. Finally, they aren't bushings, they're spherical bearings..... seems like a bargain...

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

Yeah, very cool cars. Mine is optioned well - stereo is good and the carbon trim is super cool. My interior is 100% black, very stealth and luxurious. Could do without the Nav as it just sits there...

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

I drove mostly DCT coupes since most available. Love the DCT - much closer gear spacing as 7th is 1:1. This keeps the motor in the powerband better at redline shifts where the 6MT lets the revs drop...

Yep, good point about software. Been looking into that. That said, my car doesn't feel down on power and if it is, oh boy will it be fast once updated.

Not getting worked up at all. I totally...

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

I can't say that I prefer the E90M just yet. As Wyatt would say, the 46M is like a fitted glove. I drove the 46 today and it's just so "right".

As for too fast, yes - the E9XM is crossing that...

Re: Sold the Jet Black, picked up an E90 M3

I finally dumped the aftermarket mufflers and found a clean stock muffler. Wow.... car is 1000 times nicer drive. I just can't stand loud cars... super annoying. The stock S65 is wicked - it's so...

Good - I'll bite.

What, specifically, does the Mason pedal do for you, compared to a fresh OE pedal? How does it affect the engagement point? Where/how is the travel shortened? Does the resting...

Re: Clutch Pedal and Bushings

Thanks for the input so far. Yeah, the Mason pedal seems cool but at $250 I'm not seeing the value as the stock pedal is great - you don't get out of this car and say "I need shorter travel".

For...

Clutch Pedal and Bushings

Kaiv did a 6MT swap for me about 10k miles ago and I had him install brand new OE pedal and bushings. Everything is fine, but, even brand new the pedal exhibits a slight lateral play. I'd like to...

Re: Whatís the best way to reduce NVH?

Well if the actual subframe is coming down then you must (read: really, really should) replace the subframe bushes, diff bushes and inner/outer control arm bushes.

For steering, the number one culprit is guibo. Always start there - it's cheap and easy and will make a difference. Next...

rtabs
rear shock mounts
front shock mounts
spring pads
bumpstops
shocks
steering guibo

In the case of the E46 M3...

I agree that a 6MT conversion (not a swap) is technically more invasive than an interior swap as the it requires special tools/machining/coding and an astute attention to detail to do it right.
