Re: Subframe crack in my 2006 M3!

Every high revving engine I know of wears out rod bearings. That's just part of the trade off of choosing a high revving engine. S65/S85 have a rod bearing issue (lottery failure). S2000s, e46 M3s,...

Re: Subframe crack in my 2006 M3!

I'd say subframe mounts and vanos pump disk tabs/lack of lotite on the cam bolts. Other than those, nothing strikes me as exceptional, unreliable, or unusually burdensome.

If you're keeping the car, you should really add locking down the vanos to that list, as well. Once it's failed, it's too late-- "checking it" is meaningless.

Not the starter if it's firing and dying.

I doubt it's fuel pump wiring, if it's good enough to start up.

ECU defaults to cracking the TBs open if the ICV is no good, so I'd rule that out.
