To use that mirror, there have to be a couple of pins removed from the harness attached to the car (for original SOS wired cars) or it will fry the new mirrors internals. That is what it looks like....

Nothing wrong using the eBay one. I like the quality and fitment of the OEM one over all the others I have used in the past. Plus, the accordion folds faster and stores easier in my opinion. :)

This Seizing up is most likely cause of the tabs breaking off. I had a similar issue (the piston on VANOS unit on the intake side) was seized and was causing issues.

I rebuilt my own VANOS unit...

I wasn't able to get the BMW codes read for the original SES light, but for the SES that is on now, the codes are: BMW 21, 015.
