Re: TTFS CSL Tune vs 6spd swap

Smooth is not a descriptor I would use for any SMG car I've been in. New, old, M3, M5, CSL flash, non-CSL flash, M or non-M. Maybe you have the one SMG BMW made right, but I think more likely is...

Re: TTFS CSL Tune vs 6spd swap

I much prefer the PDK and DCT to SMG. My preference would be manual still, but I can see myself compromising on a DCT/PDK car as long as I still have my M3 in the garage

Have you actually...

Re: TTFS CSL Tune vs 6spd swap

If 10 is a well driven manual, stock SMG is about a 1, and CSL software is maybe a 4 or 5. So dramatic improvement, but still shit ultimately.

Re: End to all speculation: The CSL Kingpin

It would seem the CSL piece has a blue paint mark and non-CSL has a red one based on ECS pictures. The ones I ordered had blue. Otherwise there doesnít seem to be any visual cues.

Re: Streamline & Dr M3an M3's CSL Airbox Development Journal Collaboration

It looks promising, but so did their bumpers at first. They supposedly also tested all of their bumpers and trunks, but that didn't seem to count for much.

Also for what it's worth, the current...

Re: BMW M2 CP has rear subframe bolted to the body without bushings.... uh oh

Nope, it's bolted straight to the floor (like our front subframes for example). Not even an aluminum "bushing" in the way. Just steel bolted to steel

That would fall under the realm of shit engineering IMO.

Nope. E46 issue had nothing to do with bushings. It was just shit engineering plain and simple.

Re: Should rebuilding brake calipers be a maintenance item?

My experience tells me don't rebuild the calipers unless they're actually sticking. You may well cause them to stick if you rebuild them unnecessarily.

Re: Fuel Pump Relay Error?

Usually it's the pump. I guess try checking for voltage at the EKP module. If it's ~10.5v, the module is fine. Alternatively try connecting the pump direct to 12v and see if it runs.

Re: E46 M3 Steering Wheel Airbag $100

Is this a recall replacement or no? If it wasn't replaced, I'm not sure selling a Takata airbag (especially from Florida) is the wisest of choices given potential liability.

Have you ever driven a Z4MR? Or any of the newer M convertibles? Just curious about what your thoughts would be on an M convertible that's as stiff or stiffer than the E46 M3 coupe

Re: The Official Bring a Trailer (BaT) Listing Thread - E46 M3

MK60 is present from September 02 onwards. That’s probably most difficult running change to retrofit, so September 02 would be the absolute floor for me.

This. Hell, I don't even really need the adjustability. I just want say... Ohlins quality dampers in a package that's tuned purely for street use.

Warmup LEDs are also different. SMG has a red one at 4k, and the rest of the LEDs are yellow instead of orange.

For that kind of driving, 13-14 sounds about right. Highway should be mid to high 20s. 30 if you're really disciplined.

Your OBC reflects real world mileage as long as the injectors are stock....
