But either CD43 or BE2450/2455 with aftermarket interface gives you the best of both worlds, imo.

Re: Bought new Used 97 M3 - Keys arent matching

Your thought is spot on (exactly right).

4 keys come with the car, (thus) you can order up to 6 spares. After that you would need a new EWS2 unit (through the official way)

Re: OEM Radio Alternative

BE2450/BE2455 BMW Professional RDS if you want the top-of-the-line head unit.

It’s not a “world” unit like the CD43 so RDS might not work.

Re: Bought new Used 97 M3 - Keys arent matching

The EWS is aligned with the DME/ECU.

They keys/locks are linked to EWS. There is no direct link between keys/locks and DME/ECU.

Re: LTW clears and a drop.

+ infinite.

Huge fail. Obviously ambers look nicer on his car.

Also when you rock clears, at least make sure the bulbs are amber.

Prefer the lower spoiler. Makes the rear less heavy...

Re: Gauge Cluster Rings...

I installed a set of Bimman ones back in 2007. They were on of the few back then with the proper OEM '3d' rings, like the OEM Z3 rings, instead of the flat glued on ones.

They are still in my 328i...

Re: 1999 Dakar M3 Coupe Build/Restoration Journal (Long and Picture Heavy)

Nice work. Looks like the PO didn't know how the jack handle is located when tucked away.

All you need now for the toolkit is the OEM wheel lock key.

Hey wait....rocking a NŁrburgring sticker...

Re: Genuine BMW E36 M3 LTW Strut Brace

Do you still have the one with Motorsport in writing on it?

These bars pop up more on US sites / Ebay.com than any Euro sites. Can't even remember the last time anyone of these was for sale.

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

Off yes. The question was what happens with it on. Which I know now.

But Lock, what are you trying to achieve? Delete the ac but still have the aux fan function?

Funny though, in hindsight, I...

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

Ok just tested this. Whatdoyouknow, the fan kicks in immediately. Do double check I pulled both the relay and the connector to the compressor.

So this must be some safety function. Learned...

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

Years ago for some Nordschleife laps, I laid wire from the dual temp sensor to the interior so I could turn on the fan from inside. You can take either side of the pin for stage 1 or stage 2.

Off...

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

You know what, since it's easy to check, I'll pull the relay from my car and will turn on the AC and see what happens.

If my fan kicks in, I'll dive into the ETM again. I only recall there being...

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

That does surprise me as neither your temp nor pressure switch is activated without the AC relay.
The button on the climate control is just that, a button to activate the AC relay->comperssor.

Re: Not your typical A/C (HVAC) question.

The aux fan will not be on all the time. The aux fan is either triggered by the dual temp switch or the A/C's pressure switch.

If the compressor isn't running (as per you removed relay) and you...

Re: Where do I buy this M logo sticker

This is not about using OEM parts of car X on car Y. I do that all the time, including Wesí Z8 strutcaps.

This is about making something aftermarket looking like an OEM part.

Don't worry about it. I said it's your car and so you should do with it as you wish.

And this was never about replicating an LTW.

I also have an E90...

Itís pretending to it being something it is not.

Itís exactly the same.

Same ones as used on the M wheels.

You sure you want to do that? That’s like putting an M3 badge on a non-M3 car.

Of course it’s entirely up to you.

Re: Brake Booster Discussion

The later E36's don't use/have the brake pedal travel sensor (for ABS).

I don't recall the US models still having that on such late models.

Both my 1996 328i and 1998 M3 don't have a sensor on...

These ESC reinforcement plates look expensive. The OEM ones are pretty cheap.

Yes.

And the E36 is pretty sensitive. I wouldnít run a thick and/or stiff rear bar.

Everything else being equal.
