I used a depinning/terminal tool. 2 of the 3 came out fine. The one that didn't the release tabs were bent the wrong way, assuming the PO, or someone that worked on the car before.

Just take pictures of your car before hand. Go get those airbags redone. Rather deal with the dealership then potentionally having to rely on a faulty airbag when it really matters

For the timing cover, can't you just just remove the water pump, pulleys, and the vanos solenoid? I don't know...

Stock intake with a silicone elbow is really good unless you wanna spend $1k+. The stock intake is getting air from the front grills and the driver side brake duct. Only reason other intakes heat...

I think that's just specifying where the labor is generally going to be happening. I provided everything for rod bearings that's why there's no items listed. But it's listed right above the timing...

Got it sorted out. The person on the phone yesterday miscommunicated. It's s total of $2,500 for everything, rod bearings, timing chain related items and labor....

$900 in labor for the bearings alone. Then today is the news about the timing stuff. Which is $2,500 for parts alone. And yes vanos is taken care of.

Did your vanos as in pulled the whole thing off from the head? Did you put it on correctly so timing is off. If it's off by a tooth or a couple it's going to be different.

The front diff bushing could be seated in the wrong place, either pushing or pulling the diff towards the passenger side or the driver side, depending how the bushing is placed. I had that problem...

Your diff isn't lined up correctly and is probably causing the drive shaft to spin on a heat shield or the transmission tunnel

It's ran for 40k+ miles in my ownership without a valve adjustment. I'm sure it's going to be fine. Just because I discovered it's missing now doesn't mean it's going to all the sudden cause issues....

Did you try resycning the old key? I believe it was something like turn the key to spot 2 5 times. Then hold the unlock while pressing he lock 3 or 5 times.

Valve shim missing.

Was doing my valve time yesterday and the clip that holds the rocker arms in place for cylinder 5 was snapped. With a rocker arm floating between cylinder 5 and 6, with the shim nowhere to be seen....

Update: had the battery tested and it was bad. The bad alternator contributed to my battery failing. Battery was only 4 months old, so it was covered under warranty. Had the people do a full check,...

Ecs vs bimmerworld vanos line?

Anyone know the difference between them? The ecs one looks like it fits snug next to the engine, compared to the bimmerworld which has some space from the engine which might help with heat issues....

I havnt ran any clamps for 3 years now, zero issues. Tried reusing the bmw ones but my needle nose pliers just destroyed them. Plus when taking the manifold off all I gotta do is pull it off or slide...
