Re: Coupe vs convertible windshield

Ok, so no one knows the difference between a coupe and convertible windshield.

The next option is the green windshield vs the clear with anti glare.

My car currently has the green but I wonder...

I was looking up replacement windshield part numbers and it looks like the euro coupes and US convertibles use the same windshield...

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

The original attachments are spaced for a european sized number plate which is much wider. (You can see the holes in the original black trim)
The way Canadian dealers fitted the front license plate...

After a few weeks of crazy work and vacation I'm back working on the M3.

Today I did an oil change and front end face lift. (and ordered cooling system parts)

The old...

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

This is a very good description of what happens with my car. The oil temp hits about 90C after 10 minutes of casual driving.

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

All of this debate is great but I'm with MParallel and sticking to the original BMW specs. BMW engineers have to factor in engine temps at all outside conditions (including very cold), electrical...

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

Typically lower temp thermostats and fan temp switches are used to compensate for a removing the clutched fan. I don't plan on doing that.

I also don't live in an extremely hot climate and don't...

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

I Googled a few videos showing a temp gage with a bypassed buffer. Mine is definitely buffered because it shows a very consistent temp during the entire drive.

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

So I have driven the car a few times and noticed that the coolant temp hits just under mid point on the gage very quickly. About 1 min of driving in my subdivision under 2500 rpm. The ambient temp...

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

It has 109k kms and was built 12/1993. It looks like the clutch fan was replaced. The hoses look new but the clumps look untouched. It's hard to tell if anything was done before.

I'm glad so many people like the wheels. It should make them easy to sell.

I'm thinking about running DSIIs or maybe some Alpina wheels. We'll see what pops up.

Re: OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

Your right, they are rare. I also find they hold up much better than leather. Unless the early owners really maintained the leather from new the leather grain tends to be worn and cracked.

OEM Plus Eurospec M3 Build

I've been looking for a E36 M3 for a while. I was looking for a 96+ coupe in Dakar or Techno with black hurricane cloth interior, low mileage and unmolested.

After months of searching for that...

Hi

Hopefully I will have a lot to post in a few weeks. I'm taking an euro E36 M3 into a local shop for PPI. If it really is what the owner says I should be the proud owner in a few days.
