Re: R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

Hmm, I think the departure from homologation started in like 1992 with the E36 or even 1988 when the E28 came out?

And holding M cars to 911 in terms of not deviating from its “mission” is a...

Re: R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

I actually don’t hold the need for camber plates against them since they’re based on your average luxury coupe... BUT it would be great to get an option for plates from the factory (at less than GTS...

Re: R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

As in the stock 1LE is a couple seconds faster than a modded M3 on r comps? Very, very hard to believe with the same driver / conditions BUT I’ve not driven either on track.

That said the 1LE is...

Re: BMW 3er (G20) 2020 **UNVEILED**

Correct, but ~325 lbs lighter than the E39 M5, which is handily outperforms regardless :D

Not bad really considering all of the crash standards, emissions, etc that the F80 deals with vs the E39,...

Re: BMW 3er (G20) 2020 **UNVEILED**

Lighter, more powerful, still offers a 6MT, no AWD... people will complain.

And that Touring looks great, too bad we aren’t getting it

Re: Official BMW M2 thread

It’s not “that bad” but certainly all relative. I thought their wrap up was quite good and pretty spot on. I don’t see a problem with the M2 erring on the side of a little “too focused”...

R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

Simply stating “it will out handle the BMW” and pointing to tire width isn’t really doing it for me... my point was on equal type of tire they’d be very close ie “on par”.

Anecdotally I recall...

How do you figure? Is there a test with an M2C on same class of rubber? Since the M2 was faster in a straight line and should otherwise at least corner on par with the ‘Maro...

Re: R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

Thanks for checking; so it’s like a Dunlop star spec etc, which is significantly faster than a PSS on a track, especially one that hot.

Re: 2019 BMW X7 Unveiled (Biggest BMW Ever Made)

Meh, disagree although it depends greatly on intended use. I do agree the x5 is too small for an effective third row, but it has a lot more room if you have a child seat or two in the second row plus...

Re: R&T: BMW M2 Competition pkg vs Camaro SS 1LE

Didn’t they like a the M2 a lot more in the mountains?

Sounded like the MPSS rubber on the M2C just couldn’t hack 110 degree track days (duh) vs the 285/305 near (if not full? Based on tread)...

Re: G80/G82 M3 & M4 Thread

- coilovers / cambro plates
- square (if needed anymore?) R comps in a 285...

I think weight reductions is all we are going to get out of the manufacturers at this time; can’t imagine any of them reducing size (perhaps slowing down the size increases).

Adding the M2 (and...

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Lol but how much do just “the basics” cost on a base Cayman? All of which is in M2C

Some guesses

- the good sport seats ($3-4k)
- sport exhaust ($3k)
- PASM (or whatever the term is) ($2k)
-...

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Ohh I see. I think if a “real” CSL then $80-90k would be fine in terms of would I personally want one, but once it’s into tickled GT3 or GT4 land then it becomes a tougher choice.

But as to would...
