Re: New Motor Trend Vid: M4 CS vs. 911 GTS

If you need a car with a trunk and room for 4, then M3/4 is the ultimate driving machine. If you want a pure sports car then there is no substitute for the 911.

That being said, I have always...

Re: RACP/Subframe reinforcement (via mobile welder?)

Welding is a skill that takes lots of practice for sure. Not something that one just picks up and does well. You did the right thing letting a pro do it.

Re: Hit a deer with my DD this moring.

My commute is 12 miles one way. I'm more in to practicality and fun for the DD, and being that it is FWD it was OK in the occasional snow.
GTI is just a great all around car and resale would have...

Re: Hit a deer with my DD this moring.

I should net mid 30's, if I return it to stock and sell of the goodies. So $35k for that and $15k from the insurance....not far off for a M2.

I'm in CA, but not really a fan of e-vehicles.

Everyone raves about it, but I have not driven it. The big question is, can I live with it as a DD AND track car. I would probably do suspension and camber plates, but the newer cars tend to absorb...

Hit a deer with my DD this moring.

I recently started a thread contemplating selling my DD and my e46 M3 and getting an M2. I just had to smog my M3 last week and now my DD might be totaled. So now what? Do I get another GTI or...

CA Smog check with SAP delete? Will it pass?

I don't see how you would pass in CA w/o cats.

In the meanwhile I passed smog with flying colors. Had the the SAP set to ready and on and now it works either installed or uninstalled.

Re: CA Smog check with SAP delete? Will it pass?

That's why I haven't done CSL airbox. I figured the SAP would be easy enough to deal with, just got to get the procedure down. This is my first time with it deleted. But yes, I agree, CA sucks.

I thought that wasn't possible, because the data goes in to the DMV data base and can't be manipulated?

I might even give the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's a try. I got a ride in a GT3 RS and could not believe the grip. Although that might be a byproduct of the car being frigging awesome.

Exactly how I feel about it. I think AW is so sought after is because it's the BMW Motorsport color and because it is easy to keep clean.

Do not think it shows the lines all that well in certain lights. Silver gray (for example) does a much better job in direct sunlight....

My assessment is that they have similar characteristics....
