Re: Compression test as part of a PPI

The question is whether or not one is qualified to perform the PPI.
When I bought my first e36 I paid for one because I was new to the platform and the car was out of state.

By the time I...

Re: Control arms

You could have pressed new OEM joints into the stock arms for far less than $400 but of course you already knew that.

Changing the whole arm is easier, one pays for convenience.

Re: Control arms

I've never used raybestos arms but I've used many other raybestos parts on other vehicles over the years. All are Chinese junk.

Re: New proud owner of an m3

Haha.

I suppose even an M3 that's 2 distinct shades of silver is an upgrade too.

Tie Rods -where to buy them?

Tie rods only control your alignment and steering. Not at all critical.

I also fear that you have never been cool.

Re: Well I guess it's time for RSM's

You guys don't get it. RSMs are a wearable item. They wear and then you replace them. That means they're doing their job.

Re: Spring issue, need help

The spring looks broken. Given how dirty everything is I'm hard pressed to tell you why it happened.
Replace the springs immediately before you really have a problem.

Re: idle vibration

Check for codes but you've likely got a vacuum leak. Reinstall the stock air box and report back.

Agreed. I've never used gliptone but have seen the results. I've used leatherique and love it.

Re: Fast blinking only when headlights/ parking lights on

Must be that the bulb was grounding against something or it's so fluke and it will be back.

I agree that the guibo and driveshaft center support bearing are the likely causes.

Visually inspect the guibo for cracks, threads showing or other damage.

To inspect the CSB, lower the...

Re: Fast blinking only when headlights/ parking lights on

While I tend to agree in most cases, removing the low beam bulb solved it.
