Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Hey everyone! I’m back from a long absence.

Long story short, I was offered a very good sum of money for my car along with the complete S54/6 speed swap I had in store, so back in April I made...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks! I actually sourced an entire new Mulberry coupe interior, and a local Mulberry sedan interior. Since as far as I can tell, nobody makes replacement leather or a dye for this color that was my...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks for the kind words everyone! This has definitely become more of a build than I ever intended. Small update, the S54 and 6 speed are sitting comfortably in my garage, and I've begun removing a...

No kidding! So did the cost of this build. Lol

Best part though, it’s an original 6 speed car too.

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks! For the molding it's just spray on Plastidip, nothing special but it looks just like the OEM coating when dry. I wish I would've taken the time to scrape off all of the old molding though,...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Small update here. Finally fixed one of the things that really bugged me about the car, which was the black molding around the window. Had to get the car ready for a local Euro show, so I was finally...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thank you! For the spoiler it only required a light wet sanding, I started with 3000 and then 5000 grit sanding sponges. From there I just used the DA polisher on the highest speed with Meg's...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Well, like I said more updates!

I ended up finding a set of Fikse Mach V wheels a while back, and was finally able to get tires on them and get them mounted. 17x8.5 +37 squared with 245/40R17's....

I've still got the original seats in my garage, if you want them shoot me a PM and we can work something out.

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks everyone. Trying to find a clean set of OE Euro lights as we speak, I'd rather avoid Depo even though I've heard they're very good. I've also scheduled an appointment with the body shop to...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

I couldn't leave it at cell phone shots anymore, she finally cleaned up well enough to deserve her own photoshoot. I now understand why Cosmosschwarz is such a popular color, when it's cleaned up and...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Hey everyone, checking in again.

It's been a while, but I was finally able to make some more progress on the M3. After 18 years of neglect in the New Mexico sun, I finally decided to do something...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks! I still have much more in store, but she's coming along. I'm with you on ride height. Doesn't really scrape on anything, but I think it'll look a little nicer. It's a bit too "stanced" for me...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

It's been a while since I've checked in here, but I finally have some updates worth talking about!

First things first... The old Vader's had to go. I finally got my nice set back from upholstery,...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

I'm about to pull the trigger on the coilovers, any final advice before I hit buy?

Mostly interested in spring rates... I prefer a tail happy car, and I want to keep it soft enough to be...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

I've been looking more into the ISC's, and I'm thinking you're right. I was reading vendor sites, but on ISC's own website they show that they offer different valving options and nicer top mount...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Very good point.

I looked into the ISC coils, I hadn't seen or heard of them until now. I like the price point on them a lot. Do you know the difference between them and the BC's? At a glance...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Lots of people on here trash talk the BC's, are they the best? Not by a long shot. But they're not nearly as bad as people make them out to be IMO. I have them on my GTO, and have been very happy...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Quick update, drivers window motor went out on me for the second time in a year... A little bugged about that. Ordered an eBay replacement, and naturally the...

Re: Intro/M3 Build Journal

Thanks. I know it's a bit of a departure from what I've had, but I've always wanted an M3. You can only have so many V8's before they all start feeling the same, I wanted something different. I...
