Typically "bumper to bumper" means it's a comprehensive warranty like the original factory warranty. That's compared to a...

Re: E46 M3 to E92 ZCP

The E46 is the more special and more fun of the 2.
The E9x makes for a slightly better (read: comfort, tech) DD, if that's how you use it. But man does it need to rev (and gets crap mileage), so...

Re: Front lip or no front lip?

Euro bumper. /thread

Lips look terrible as these cars age. The stock bumper is clean looking, and the clearance is always welcome.

I remember losing my shit over wheels like these 10 years ago. I just can't come around to stepped lips or 3 piece wheels anymore, even though these do have an OG look to them.

Fair to good price if it was a clean car.

Re: Dimensions of OE Foam Supports/Shims for Front Bumper Bar

That's ... not a bad idea. It may be a tougher to cut but the material is great and it'll have that taper on top (which I'm still not convinced is necessary, but can't hurt if that was stock).

That doesn't answer the question.

Being slammed is inconvenient, risks damage to bumpers and under panels, and compromises performance. Looks are subjective but it's objectively silly.

Also think an S54 E39 would be a mismatch, a comfortable cruiser with a high strung engine that wants to be wrung out.

Re: Does Your E46 BMW Consume Oil?

Zero oil consumption.
TWS since new, 88K on the engine now, OCIs at ~4K (1x/year with my mileage, and per Dinan due to SC which shares oil).

Eithey way it's cleaner, simpler, and cheaper for 01-04 cars. :)

Re: 900 mile road trip?

Maintenance up to date? Then no issue. This car is best and most fun on road trips.
If I had to think twice about a drive like that, I wouldn’t want to own the car.

Re: Best sway bars?

^ I’m with you, bud. That’s why I like the Hotchkis bar, save some weight and the soft setting is so mild that it’s a low risk proposition.

Hotchkis front ranges from +11% to +90%.
I plan on adding just the front and running it on soft (11% stiffer than stock).

What I still don’t understand is that common knowledge now is that a...

Re: Headers & Dinan S/C combo???

True. And I think Dinan did a great job tuning for their hardware. But I’m wondering if Euro headers/are are enough to throw things out of sweet balance. I’m sure SSV1 or ARH would need a retune, but...

So it seems like Evolve’s testing indicates a functional flap as being helpful (and adding power), yet you all conclude it’s just for noise purposes? What am I missing?

Over the top and unsupported gains was exactly the issue.
