Re: Oil analysis - should I be concerned??

Interesting. So you're saying since there appears to be bearing wear I should get a compression test and leak-down test done? Good idea, thanks. :shifty:

Re: Lux Grill for Mesh Swap

While it may have been OE I have never liked the body-colored mesh, certainly on lighter colors like Dakar or Alpine. It was clearly not a very popular thing as it was halted after the first year and...

Oil analysis - should I be concerned??

Ok, so I finally decided to get an analysis of my oil, figuring the car is getting up there with 140k miles and all. Always been very religious about oil changes, always use high quality synthetic...

Re: Longevity of the Koni/H&R Setup?

^OK, well I guess I am in the minority then. I would never buy used brake components, never ever. Calipers I would buy to rebuild, but rotors and pads, no way. As for the suspension, I can see...

Re: Anyone buy an aftermarket Headunit recently? Reccomendations? (yes I searched)

I know, I'm old, but I still have 100's of CD's. Big and clunky by today’s standards, they still offer higher quality sound than even the best bit-rate digital download. Paying $1 for a crap quality...

Re: Longevity of the Koni/H&R Setup?

Yeah, price would have to be really good. Why not just get new? Warranty and all? Always risky buy used suspension stuff. Would you buy used brakes?

Re: Coolant smell, no leak, running too lean?

Sounds like a pinhole leak during full system pressure only to me. As Nick said, you need a mirror to see all the hoses and other likely surfaces. There are 5 more "hidden" hoses, 2 go to the TB and...

Re: Coolant smell, no leak, running too lean?

You are reaching. The car can fully overheat and you might never smell anything till coolant blows out the tail pipe. While a lean condition will cause a higher engine temp it will likely just reveal...

Re: Coolant smell, no leak, running too lean?

One has nothing to do with the other. If you are smelling coolant but the level is not getting lower and there is no obvious drips then you likely have a pinhole leak or weeping hose that only allows...

Actually, you have a BMW car, why not stick with the BMW speakers? Same logic, right?
