Re: Squealing sounds when coasting low speeds, but goes away when braking

What's the weirdest thing you found in your used e46 M3?

So, I'm currently 2 for 2 on buying used cars and finding GPS trackers in them that the PO had no idea about. One was a Honda from Craigslist, the other was my M3 I bought on eBay out of state (that...

Re: OFFICIAL - New Yearís Group Buy: CMP AE Subframe Raising & RTA bushing

Thanks for the answer! I was wondering if this was the case. I know some areas of the subframe have two layers of metal separating the inside and outside of the trunk floor / subframe. I guess where...

Thanks for the tip on the rear diff bushings. I'm about to do the same as OP but the only missing piece was the rear bushings. Already on the group buy for the CMP parts.

Re: Best subframe repair options as of July 2018?

I'm of the opinion I'd rather pay a little now than a lot later. Putting some money into doing the plates now, especially while it's apart, is a wise idea considering M3s are especially susceptible...

D'oh, I misunderstood the display. That works! And thank you, I'll try setting up INPA. I have a Schwaben tool... somewhere.... if I find it I'll try pulling info with that.

First off, I just got my first e46 M3 this morning so I'm new to the SMG utilization, but I've researched a decent bit on it. When I put it in auto "A" mode it won't upshift automatically. I tried...

Re: Bottom of fender rust advice

I'd replace and be done. From my experience using something like a rust converter or inhibitor is like playing whack-a-mole with rust.

Re: Thoughts on this Ď95 for sale?

That M3 has really questionable mod vomit, and the raw value just isn't there for that price. I think this guy saved all his receipts and expects that he can get 1:1 every dollar he spent back.

No stored codes

New plugs. Extenders seem okay, no idea on age.

I think the precat O2s are original. I know the cats have been replaced but not sure the sensors have.

Used a smoke machine...

Re: Replacing the Aux Fan Increased Noise Vibration Harshness

That's fair. I was using the driveshaft as a comparison. I'd definitely try pulling the aux fan fuse and see if that immediately kills the vibration.

Re: Replacing the Aux Fan Increased Noise Vibration Harshness

Are you certain the aux fan is the cause of the vibrations? I seriously doubt it could cause a powerful enough vibration to shake the door panels because it just doesn't have that much mass to it....

Re: Very random question about my newly acquired 95 M3 - Tail light crossmember

Looks original. My 328 had repairs done to the tail light areas, it's definitely much more noticeable than that.
