Re: Trans swap the Getrag for a ZF 6 speed out of the 135i

The one that does fit from the E46 and a few other cars is the GS6-37, and is rated for less torque than the 420G. Probably fine for a stock car, though.

Re: Trans swap the Getrag for a ZF 6 speed out of the 135i

Re: Speed Academy "Supercar Killer" e46 M3 build

Stiffer diff bushings are likely to cause audible whine, possibly even singing, at some speeds in some gears. I have it in my E36 with 75D and in my E90 with 95A. I have read of people with E90 and...

Re: Speed Academy "Supercar Killer" e46 M3 build

Tying the rear shock towers together and to the rear subframe bolts helps but the front subframe bolts don’t get the same support absent a Vince bar or equivalent. Would be curious to know whether a...

Re: How to check oil level

Actually the owners manual says flickering at idle is OK. However, I agree with running a thicker oil, particularly on a 20-25 year old motor. Doubt you need 15W50; 5W40 should be fine, but you can...

Re: Calling all 300-350rwhp n/a m3's

E85 tune would be as good or better. Not an APE or AFD flex fuel tune that does not touch the timing, but an ECU tune that requires E85 and raises the timing. I think the ECU can do a switch tune...

I never did a dyno. The test cars when this came out seemed to be up by about 20 rwhp but a tune could add 5-10 of that, so I am not sure.

Something is odd. You can’t be making 335 lbs rwtq. Not even if mis-timed. And it’s not like that is a wheelspin spike. Your power curve is in the ballpark of a stock car at 274 rwhp. You could...

By flex plate I meant the metal seal between the bell housing and block. Though I doubt that got bent or misaligned enough to cause an issue.

The OP has never tracked his car so the brakes would be mostly for looks. AP does have a very good reputation in the US. They are also more expensive than the StopTechs the OP was considering.
