The only reason all this bs exists is because of the law you can’t buy direct from the manufacturer, and deposits must always be fully refundable.

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Maybe the bigger question we should be asking is why the M2 comp which is based on a $35k car, costs $2k more than a base Cayman. The Cayman being a dedicated sports cars platform and produced at...

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

I would totally get an RS3 if I were to replace my DCT E90 M3 with another smallish sedan.

Boxster Spyder all the way! Best all around sports car in the world, not biased at all!:laughhard:

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

M4 Comp base price is $73,900.

M4 CS is going to cost $97,400 apparently if it ever gets sold here.

So I could see that putting an M2 CSL maybe somewhere around $70-75k.

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Can't disagree with you guys about the pricing issue. Never thought I would think of a $100k 911 as a bargain, but now I somehow do.

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Ideally it would cost significantly less than $100k because of BMW's glorious investment in carbon fiber. I agree a $100k 2 series is silly.

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

Well a Carrera T would be the direct comparison which is base priced at $102k.

370hp supposedly but probably underrated.

3,142 lb weight.

So if an M2 CSL weighed less, had more power,...

Re: BMW development chief complains that everyone loves the e46 CSL

It bothers him enough whine like a little baby about it, but not quite enough to actually give us the focused M2 CSL or Z4M Coupe that would silence us.

Those just wouldn't create profits like...

Re: The 997.1 is the 911 to buy these days

996 GT2/3 > 996 Turbo > 997.1 non-GT/Turbo > 996 non-GT/Turbo

I agree the 996 C4S is maybe the best looking 996, but I still wouldn't take it over an equivalent 997.1.

Re: BMW 1M Buying Guide & E46 M3 Touring

Still blows my mind that a used 1M is worth so much more than a new M2 Comp.

I'll be honest tho, the 1M sure does look better.

Sorry not that engine, hard pass. IMS failures, bore scoring, slushbox autotragic, etc... 997.2 or 991.1 all day if we are talking non GT or Turbo.

Re: 997 or 991 GT2 RS

Definitely 997 since I wouldn't be using either turdbro for chasing lap times.

GT3RS is a much tougher question I could go either way, picking 991 for serious driving vs 997 for back roads.

Re: The 2018 BMW 230i is a Blast!

3447 lbs. is just too much weight for this to be something exciting. Maybe ditching the sunroof, autotranny, and other luxury stuff can get it down enough?

No mention if steering feel is improved.
