Aux fan: worked fine. I have cut off the wires from the controller, so this is just the fan and the plastic surround....

Ive owned both. I had an 07 335 with the n54 and a few mods, most notably a tune.
It was quick and fun and a great looking car. But, it is entirely different than the M. Built for different reasons...
