Re: Need Advice: Part Out or Sell?

ha, I did give this a brief thought, but I really just don't like the SMG version of the E46. Granted, a lot can be done to enhance the SMG 'experience', I just don't think it would be worth it/

Re: Need Advice: Part Out or Sell?

Re: Need Advice: Part Out or Sell?

The VANOS is starting to leak, there's no noise or anything, so the vanos "issues" aren't really there, plus it's a fairly cheap fix in the grand scheme and very well may be rebuilt/bullet-proofed...

Re: jacking up a lowered car on 4 stands

Jacking it up by the diff is safe, it's the whole jacking it up by the diff while the front is on two jack stands, which is not so safe, as the car can wobble / tip to one side if your not careful. ...

I'm sure you did, but it's not on your list, did you check the coils?

Starter sounds like it's trying to turn over, but there's no fire, I'm no expert by any manor...

Edit: I'm half wondering...

Re: jacking up a lowered car on 4 stands

I typically jack up the front, put the front on stands, then jack up the rear by the diff, then put the rear on stands. It's definitely not safe by any means and I wouldn't recommend doing it at all,...

Turned out to be misfires in cyl #1, the coil was failing. I just replaced all the coils (and plugs) in Nov, looks like the one was already failing, damn Bosch.

Re: codes 2mo after headers & tune

That's the odd thing, the AA tune should disable the post-o2's, granted one of the pre-o2's is pretty damn close to the pipes as well, but not close enough to where it would cause issues.

Re: How many miles per tank do you get?

I get 18mpg with 70% highway driving, however longer road trips (ie: anything a straight 80+ miles) I typically get 20-21mpg easily.

To my knowledge it doesn't have the level sensor, so you typically short out the wires in the plug that would normally go to the sensor.

Just double checked myself on Bimmerworld...
