E92 M3 Time Trial build

This project started off looking for an E92 M3, the only two requirements were that it had a carbon roof and DCT transmission. The intended build of this car was to be a NASA Time Trial 3(TT3) car...

Re: Terminal Removal Help

I used tool CE-91 from a Schwaben connector kit(which I'm not crazy about, and is really about the only usable tool from that kit on BMW's). Even with the tool inserted, they don't always release...

You can use the stock doorhandle/speaker cover and just trim off the speaker part.

Re: Roof adhesive removal

That stuff is a PITA, much worse than the sound deadening tar residue. I believe I found Aicraft brand adhesive remover worked the best, but even then it's a lot more work than it should be.

Re: Steering wheel?

350mm will put you closer to OEM size, the larger size will also work better if you add something like an AiM MXG later on down the road. An MXL2 will fit behind a 330mm wheel. Sparco, Momo, OMP,...

Their testing method didn't allow for a direct comparison to be made. I'm pretty confident in saying that if it was done it such a way that it was comparable, the outcome wouldn't have...

Re: Track Car to Race Car...Finally.

I would rethink that shroud on a race car, it will help in the paddock but hinder cooling on track.

Re: Wiring DSC switch on a race car panel

Unplug the yaw angle sensor under the driver's seat to disable DSC and retain steering angle data. Yes ABS will still work.

Well the remainder of it, since some of the 3D structure has already been cut out you might as well ditch the rest, gives it a cleaner look and another 10 lbs lost. Makes everything easier to pant...

I've had a customer or two have that line fail on track. I recommend the BimmerWorld piece, I also bring a spare one with me to the track in case someone else needs one.
