If it has slop in the steering, or toe out, the result would be wear on the inside edges.

If the car is lowered, you probably won't get very close to spec camber in the front, but unless something is bent, they should be more or less even. They are the same...

The subframes aren't actually piloted into any center position... They ARE free to shift side-to-side by a small amount. If you loosen the bolts, you might be able to center it. Don't know if you can...

Ditched my M-Variable-Locking carrier in favor of an earlier style LSD. Spider gear backlash gone, clunking gone.

In my experience... BMW's alignment specs typically have excess neg rear camber, and shorten tire life as a result. Anything you can do...

I always make the adjustments with the sway bars loose, so you aren't fighting them.
Visualize it as a table with springs on the bottom of the legs... if you raise one corner, the diagonal opposite...

At last... some specs to look at.
Caster is even side-to-side, that's good. Uneven caster will cause a pull, but even up to 1/2 degree difference is usually invisible.

'M-Clunk' from slop inside the diff has pretty much been beaten to death...
There's a second possibility for driveline slop, and that's the dual mass flywheel.
Doesn't sound like that's the case...

When I worked at the dealer, I caught their alignment machine out of cal by checking it against my home numbers... took a LOT of persuading to have them get it...

When I did mine, I couldn't find a good way to hold the diff... I did the basic torque, marked the bolts then used the impact to turn them the extra 30+ degrees.
Took a lot of power, hence the term...

100-110nm (74-81lbs)
+ 30 to 34 degrees angle
clean dry threads, loctite (but they don't say red or blue)

When I had my examples apart, I don't recall seeing any identification anywhere... I too searched high & low for replacement friction plates/steels at something like wholesale prices. No luck!...

I didn't track the costs of the entire diff rebuild and swap, but the donor diff complete from an e32 750iL was $80 from pickandpull.

E23 735i use the 210 R&P but in a really different looking case... I'd bet the guts are the same.
E28 M5
E32 750iL (not all are LSD, but most). 735i and 740i ARE NOT...

I tried the SPC with the urethane bushings.... they fall out with hard use.
Replaced with the VAC, they're fine.
I actually prefer the Turner ones, due to the center adjustment.

If you poke around, the friction plates are available. But not cheap!

I don't have any specific experience with an e34 M5 LSD.... but I did install one out of an e32 750, after doing a whole sh*tload of research.

I'd expect the cranking signal (small cable) to maintain full battery voltage. Does the main battery cable to the starter drop to 11.5 also?
I'd still expect the car to crank over at 11.5v anyway,...

Test voltage at the starter. Full battery voltage (12+ min) should appear on the small terminal when the key is in the crank position, and full voltage should be present at all times at the big...
