No it's not. The technical note applied to the S54 and later motors only. 10w60 has never been recommended by BMW for the S50.

Yes, it's the vent tube and I'm sure a place like Rack Doctor would be able to provide a spare.

Yes, it's essential or your rack will suck in all sorts of crap and fail quickly.

And just message me...

Re: Electrical Problem - Brake causes dome light to flash, window to drop

Re: Electrical Problem - Brake causes dome light to flash, window to drop

As a matter of interest how does the door striker switch relate to the brake pedal?

Re: Electrical Problem - Brake causes dome light to flash, window to drop

Almost guaranteed to be the wiring harness that connects into the trunk lid, common problem and causes all sorts of weird glitches.

Easy to check and there's a repair harness available from BMW...

Re: E36 GT (LTW) and GT2 Wing Wickerbill (Gurney Flap) Reproduction and Information

The effort to reproduce these so carefully and faithfully is awesome.

Pity they look like a stuck on afterthought.

Wonder how many extra kg's of downforce they produce?

Re: DIY E36 M3 Hood Lift Support Replacement

Actually one of my new OE ones did need squeezing, it wasn't tight enough, didn't lock into the groove. I can imagine some aftermarket ones require even more manipulation.

Re: DIY E36 M3 Engine Oil Change

A few suggestions:

* Advise people to wear gloves (or be very careful) when removing the sump plug on a hot engine.
* Loosen or remove the oil filler cap when draining.
* Drain when the car is...

Re: Slicktop e36 m3

Interesting. Most of our M3's here in NZ are 'slicktops'.

Having said that, most of our 328's (mine included) are sunroof.

I guess because sports car right. ;)

It will be one of three things, including the lower bearing which is actually in the engine bay. The sound travels up the hollow shaft making it sound like it's coming from the steering wheel itself....

Drive/roll the car onto blocks first? Difficult of course if the rear is already off the ground but unless you need all four up this is an easy method.

Sticking's going to be easier to sort, I'd start with the sliders, are they greased up properly with copper grease?

Have you diagnosed exactly...

Looks clean and electric rear vents...

But are you in the US? Can you import this?

You also might want to ask over at m3cutters.co.uk, they're more familiar with this model.

It's an exclusive local car, practically impossible to come by with this pedigree and in mint condition.

As above test with DIS.

But really the S50B30 single VANOS is a trivial job. Forget the rattle kit and it will take no more than a few hours extra over and above your valve job.

Just do it for...

Re: M3 S50B30 in Japan

1. Not very from the factory but after thousands of km's they can become quite restrictive. But it's unlikely they'll get "really restrictive" for 100's of thousands of km's.

2. No, removing cats...
