Ah you went to the Nordschleife. Amazing isn’t it? I wish I could re-experience my first time there. It was everything in between crazy and utterly amazing.

Revisit it every year ever since.

Unless someone did some manual labor on their car, no 1996 car ever left the factory as a 3.0. The S50B32 was introduced in 1995, so even all MY96 cars are 3.2ís.

Re: Got another one - S50B30 content

You don’t see much RD stuff. Pretty cool. RD wheels would complete the whole look.
Never seen those doorcard inserts.

Looks like 840i Brembo calipers. Nice.

Is that a Racing Dynamics coil cover?

I don’t think I ever mentioned this, but on seeing hundreds of E36 engine bay (pics) regardless the model or engine, on 99% of them, the left...

Much better, though I still see some residue dirt.

I see. Well too bad as that bade is quite big.

EU don’t have that bar. No wonder doing the filter is so hard on US cars.

Re: Cruise Control Inoperative After Clutch Switch Replacement

Tough call. Might check with INPA, where you can check if it gets all signals (stalk positions, clutch and brakelight switch, etc).

Might even try the old brakelight switch.

Re: Black Tar Looking Adhesive

BMW sells it as a rolled-up strip. Much easier to apply than squeezing it out of a tube.

Re: Cruise Control Inoperative After Clutch Switch Replacement

That black 4-pin connector is the brakelight switch. Clutch switch is a 2-pin white bodied switch.

Bit confused what switch you replaced now.

Re: Crashed customer's e36 m3-- belong to anyone here?

Vid down.

But bad enough. There should be a “garage mode” or something you could set with a special key that limits speed and revs to prevent joyrides.

Re: AC question : hot air from defrost vents while AC running?

AC is independent from the heater i.e. aircon is used all year ‘round.

If the heater is on, regardless of AC being on, it will give you warm air.

Re: 1999 Dakar M3 Coupe Build/Restoration Journal (Long and Picture Heavy)

Well that is the function. But I guess you must have worn engine mounts to 'benefit' from this buffer.
